Stop 1: En route visit to Hatchery at Kosgoda

Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery on the Southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. Learn more about the five endangered sea turtle species that come to the shores of Sri Lanka to nest. Learn how the Kosgoda Turtle Care Program helps protect the nests until they hatch and increases the chances of survival for the babies. Get a chance to see, touch and feed baby turtles; or even injured adult turtles that the Turtle Hatchery cares for.

Stop 2: Next to visit Galle Dutch Fort

Explore the jewel of the southern coast, the city of Galle and capture the unique beauty, history, and character that no other city in Sri Lanka can offer you. Rich in colonial architecture saturated with star class hotels, fun cafes and restaurants and beautiful beach spots scattered around the place, Galle is perfect for the tropical holiday escape of your dream.

Day 3Ahangama To Yala Camp Safari

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Yala

Yala combines a strict nature reserve with a national park. Divided into 5 blocks, the park has a protected area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks, and lagoons. Two blocks are currently opened to the public. Situated in Sri Lanka’s south-east hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean, Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Ironically, the park was initially used as a hunting ground for the elite under British rule. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks, and crocodiles. The best time to visit Yala is between February and July when the water levels of the park are quite low, bringing animals into the open.

Optional Stop : Detour to Visit Katharagama Dewala Hindu/Buddhist religious SIte

Kataragama a popular pilgrimage destination frequented by adherents of all religions in Sri Lanka.
The main shrine devoted to Skanda popularly described in eulogies as God having six faces and twelve arms whose assistance is sought for worldly gain. The history of the shrine dates back to 2 century BC. The annual procession held in July or August is the main event of the shrine with fire walkers and Kawadi dancers. Offering to the got are made at 4.30 am 10.30 am and 6.30 pm daily.

Day 4Yala to Nuwara Eliya

• After Breakfast Proceeds to Nuwara Eliya.

Stop 1: On the way visit to Rawana water Fall.

This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an Areca flower with withering petals. But this is not the case in the dry season, where the flow of water reduces dramatically. The falls form part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary and is located 6 km (3.7 mi) away from the local railway station at Ella.

Stop 2: En route visit to Hakgala Botanical Garden.

The Gardens (27ha) were established in 1860 as an experimental Cinchona plantation from which the anti-malarial drug quinine is derived. Subsequently the gardens were used for experiments in acclimatizing temperate-zone plants to life in tropics. Today Hakgala’s gardens of roses, shrubs, ferns & montane woodland are delightfully located in salubrious environment, with small streams running across & wooden bridges built over them with birds flying all over. The charm of the Gardens, cold & shady atmosphere & enchanting sceneries soothes your mind relieving you of your anxieties.

Stop 3: Nuwaraeliya city.

Nuwara Eliya is set in the heart of tea-country is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course, and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh – a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

Day 5Nuwara Eliya to Kandy

• After Breakfast Proceeds to Kandy.

Stop 1: on the way visit the Tea plantation and Tea factory.•

Admire the tea plucking ladies who add a vibrant colours to the scenery with their colourful sarees and join them to try tea plucking by yourselves. Pay a visit to a tea factory before you leave the place and discover how the finest tea powder in Ceylon is made.

Stop 2: En route visit to Ramboda Water Falle.

Ramboda Falls is 109 m (358 ft) high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. The Altitude of the falls is 945 m (3,100 ft) above sea level.

Stop 3: visits to Sacred Tooth Relic Temple in Kandy.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built in the 16th century as a place of veneration and protection for Lord Buddha’s sacred tooth. You will have a chance to walk through the beautifully embellished passageways and elaborately halls painted in shades of red, cream and black. Lounge against delicately carved pillars and be amazed by the beautiful golden statues. We have no doubt that you will want to embrace the wonders of Sri Lankan art and history.

Stop 4: In the evening you will attend a Sri Lankan cultural show.

Day 6Kandy to Habarana

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceeds to Dambulla “Cave Temple”.

Go on a historical expedition to explore one of the most ancient cave temples in Sri Lanka that has a history that runs back to 1st century BC and take a deeper look into the vibrancies of the Buddhist culture of the island. Located in Dambulla, golden cave temples are one of the most famous attractions and Buddhist temples that attract tourists and locals alike in hundreds every day.

Nestled on a rock, the temple presents you stunning views of the surrounding landscapes as it invites you to the wind up in the peaceful ambiance of the place disconnecting from the bustling city life. With hundreds of Buddha statues and beautiful wall murals, a temple is indeed a must-visit place in Sri Lanka if you are visiting the cultural triangle.

Stop 2: Evening Safari in Minneriya National Park.

Minneriya Kaudulla is a sanctuary for elephants and spreading over 8800 hectares. During the dry season of August to September each year, herds up to 200 elephants are seen within a few square kilometers of the vast Minneriya Reservoir. This Elephant Gathering is a thrilling spectacle that would be remembered for the rest of the life of all those who were fortunate enough to witness it. 24 species of mammals and over 170 species of birds have been recorded here and out Of the 25 species of reptiles recorded in the park 8 are endemic.

Day 7Habarana

• After Breakfast proceeds to Sigiriya.

Stop 1: Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Witness the wonder of lion rock fortress in Sri Lanka, immersing you in the beauty of the surrounding scenery. Located in the cultural triangle, the fortress is on a 660 feet tall column of rock leaving modern-day engineers speechless. Take the narrow stairs to the top and witness the breathtaking scenery of the summit. Along the way to the top uncover the mind-blowing constructions and the irrigation network of the place that will paint a clear picture of the luxuriousness of the palace back in the days.

With water parks, fountains, water gardens, water pools, remnants of the palace the architectural brilliance of the place will blow your mind. Don’t forget to learn the interesting story behind the mirror wall and the Sigiriya frescoes to get the complete experience of Sigiriya.

Stop 2 : Sigiriya Village Tour.

When we proceeded to that place, one person detailed our Sigiriya village tour program in nicely & he told that tour will take approximate 02 hours time. It included a catamaran ride, a walk to poor village house through paddy fields, cookery demonstration of Sri Lankan Authentic food and a tuk tuk ride from village to starting point.

Day 08Habarana To Polonnaruwa / Aukana

• After Breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa Ancient City of relics.

Stop 1:Travel back in time exploring the ruins of a once dazzled kingdom-the sacred city of Polonnaruwa.

Located in Northcentral province is a historical city, the second capital of Sri Lanka that has flourished during the period of 017 A.D. to 1235 A.D. With well-preserved ruins scattered around the city, Polonnaruwa is an ideal destination that will make history buffs don’t want to leave.

Even if you are not a history lover Polonnaruwa has much more in the store to ensure you an unforgettable expedition. From lush paddy fields, ocean-like man-made reservoirs to beautiful landscapes Polonnaruwa will add unique moments to your holiday in Sri Lanka. The statue of King Parakramabahu I, Royal Palace of King Parakramabahu I and vatadage are some of the must-visit attractions in Polonnaruwa.

Leave Polonnaruwa and drive to Anuradhapura.

Stop 2: On the way visit to Awukana Buddha Statue.

Aukana Buddha statue is located at 30km northwest of Dambulla close to ancient Kala Weva man-made rainwater reservoir. It can be reached from Kekirawa on Dambulla-Anuradhapura road. The tallest ancient Buddha statue of Sri Lanka Aukana Buddha Statue in Sri Lanka that rises to a height of 11.36 meters, is the tallest ancient Buddha statue in Sri Lanka.

Aukana Buddha Statue in Asisa Mudra or the “posture of blessing” is carved out of a rock boulder. The statue is carved in the round connected to the back to the rock boulder. The delicate and skillful carving of the Buddha’s robe humanizes and chastely reveals the underlying form of his body, while the face’s impassive expression projects an aura of spiritual supremacy.

It is said that the degree of alignment of the statue is such that raindrop on the nose would drop straight down to small depression carved between the toes. Aukana Buddha Statue is a masterpiece of a colossal Buddha Statue by an unknown sculptor: the serene expression of the statue, the gracefully carved robe with neat pleats brings in delicateness that could hardly be molded into a rock. The impassive expression of the face reflects the supreme spirituality.

Day 09Anuradhapura to Wilpaththu

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura Ancient City.

The ruined city is comprised of impressive ruins of “Dagabos”(Stupa), palaces, temples and ancient buildings offering you ample opportunities to explore the great history of Sri Lanka. Wander around historical sites listening to unbelievable stories of kings and queens, before you leave to capture the beauty of lush paddy fields and rural farming lifestyle and man-made reservoirs of the area.

Stop 2: After Lunch proceed to Wilpaththu.

Day 10Wilpaththu

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceeds to Wilpaththu National Park”.

Located 30km west of Anuradhapura, and to the south of Wilpattu National Park is River Modergam Aru; to the north is River Kala Oya. Wilpattu National Park has a good network of gravel roads, particularly between the water holes which are the best places to observe wildlife. A unique complex of over 50 wetlands like “everglades” is the most prominent feature of the national park jungle. Jeep Safari is the regular norm in exploring the Wilpattu National Park. While the big 4 of Sri Lankan wildlife the Leopard, Elephant, Sloth bear, Deer, endemic birds can be sighted during a safari.

Day 11Wilpaththu to Negambo

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Anawilundawa wetland.

The Anawilundawa Bird Sanctuary is situated in the Puttalam district in the North-Western province of the country; between Chilaw and Puttlam – to be more specific – it is situated between the coast and the Chilaw-Puttalam railway line. The uniqueness of Anawilundawa is its immediate proximity to three vastly different ecosystems; the coast, the mangroves, and the freshwater tanks making it one of the six RAMSAR Wetlands in Sri Lanka. This unique ecological setting has made it a favorable nesting and breeding ground for hundreds of species of birds.

It is set out on 1,397 hectares of forest land and comprises of nine tanks; six giant manmade cascading tanks namely Pinkattiya, Maradansola, Anawilundawa, Mayyawa, Surawila and Vellawali, and three secondary tanks, each one connected with the other and working as one unit. These tanks store water for irrigation and cultivation and acts as a natural habitat and refuge for 150 species of waterbirds in addition to a few species of threatened Fish, Amphibians, Mammals, and Reptiles.

  • The Guide, Driver or the Assistant who accompany you will wear face mask and gloves and possess a PCR tested report taken recently.
  • When entering a sacred premises such as a Buddhist temple, it is vital that you are dressed appropriately or you will not be permitted to enter the venue. Please ensure your skirt/shorts are no shorter than knee length and your shoulders are covered.
  • It is important that you respect the rules and traditions that are observed in Sri Lanka during your stay.

Once you have chosen one of our tours, please send us an inquiry with the requested details via our site or contact one of our representatives in Sri Lanka, Australia, Norway or Oman via telephone. For the moment due to the prevailing situation, customizing your trip will be difficult and we advise you to stick with our tailor made tours for your own safety. However our travel experts will be more than happy to adjust the tour itinerary and add or remove activities of it to fulfill your needs. Once the itinerary is finalized, the booking process will commence.

We require a 65% advance deposit prior 18days of arrival, in order to place a formal booking. On receipt of the deposit, our team will commence booking your hotels and vehicles. Within 5days of your advance payment we will send your hotel confirmations, ticketing details, Driver/guide and Vehicle details along with other required details via our official reservation mail – reservation@bookingceylon.com for you to get an online visa.

Packing Essentials:

As Sri Lanka has a tropical climate and high humidity, we suggest that you wear thin cotton clothing during your stay. However, we suggest you pack some warmer clothing if your tour includes a visit to Kandy, Nuwaraeliya & Ella as these areas have a cooler climate.

Please ensure you bring the following:

  • Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
  • Sanitary Napkins/ Tampons (for ladies) – as they are nearly impossible to find outside of Colombo.
