Day 1Airport to Negambo

On arrival you will be met by our English speaking guide at the Katunayaka International Airport lobby.

Day 2Negambo to Mihinthale/Anuradhapura

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Mihinthalaya Rock Temple.

Explore the Buddhist heritage of Sri Lanka taking yourself on an unforgettable journey to Mihinthale. Located 13 km away from Anuradhapura, Mihinthale is known for its sacred Buddhist temple that has a fascinating history that runs back to the day Buddhism was brought to Sri Lanka.

It’s believed that Mahinda thero who brought Buddhism to Sri Lanka from India met the King of the island at the time at the rock of Mihintale. Today you too can climb this rock and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding after you explore the Mihintale temple.

Day 3Anuradhapura

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura ancient city.

Day 4Anuradhapuraya to Sigiriya / Habarana

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Sigiriya “Lion Rock”.

Witness the wonder of lion rock fortress in Sri Lanka, immersing you in the beauty of the surrounding scenery. Located in the cultural triangle, the fortress is on a 660 feet tall column of rock leaving modern-day engineers speechless. Take the narrow stairs to the top and witness the breathtaking scenery of the summit. Along the way to the top uncover the mind-blowing constructions and the irrigation network of the place that will paint a clear picture of the luxuriousness of the palace back in the days.

Day 5Habarana to Polonnaruwa / Habarana

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa ancient city.

Located in North central province is a historical city, the second capital of Sri Lanka that has flourished during the period of 017 A.D. to 1235 A.D. Even if you are not a history lover Polonnaruwa has much more in the store to ensure you an unforgettable expedition. From lush paddy fields, ocean-like man-made reservoirs to beautiful landscapes Polonnaruwa will add unique moments to your holiday in Sri Lanka. The statue of King Parakramabahu I, Royal Palace of King Parakramabahu I and vatadage are some of the must-visit attractions in Polonnaruwa.

• Leave Polonnaruwa and drive to Minneriya.

Stop 2: Do an afternoon proceed to Minneriya / Kaudulla National Park.

Minneriya is a sanctuary for elephants and spreading over 8800 hectares. During the dry season of August to September each year, herds up to 200 elephants are seen within a few square kilometers of the vast Minneriya Reservoir. This Elephant Gathering is a thrilling spectacle that would be remembered for rest of the life of all those who were fortunate enough to witness it. 24 species of mammals and over 170 species of birds have been recorded here and out Of the 25 species of reptiles recorded in the park 8 are endemic.

Day 6Habarana to Dambulla / Kandy

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Dambulla “Cave Temple”.

Day 7Kandy

Stop 1: After Breakfast visit a Sacred Tooth Relic Temple in Kandy.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which was built in the 16th century as a place of veneration and protection for Lord Buddha’s sacred tooth. You will have a chance to walk through the beautifully embellished passageways and elaborately halls painted in shades of red, cream and black. Lounge against delicately carved pillars and be amazed by the beautiful golden statues. We have no doubt that you will want to embrace the wonders of Sri Lankan art and history.

Stop 2: In the evening visit a The Royal Botanical garden located at Peradeniya.

Day 8Kandy to Ella

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Ella and on the way visit to tea factory.

Sri Lanka, Tea and Tourism are words which cannot be separated. Take a tour to the cold & misty hills that take pride of an ultimate tea tour, covering lush green blankets of tea plantations. Or just step into a tea factory processing the prestigious brand of Ceylon Tea, to observe a rich tradition kept alive up to date. As you observe the hissing and swishing of machines, inhaling the heavenly scent arising from these facilities, make sure to end your day in style over a perfectly blended cup of pure Ceylon Tea.

Stop 2: Do an afternoon visite to Ramboda waterfalle.

Ramboda Falls is 109 m (358 ft) high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Altitude of the falls is 945 m (3,100 ft) above sea level.

Stop 3: In the evining visite to Nuwara eliya city.

Explore one of the most beautiful cities in Sri Lanka- Nuwara Eliya. Covered in the mist under the cool breeze is the Nuwara Eliya or Little England awaiting to take your breath away at every corner with its mind-blowing sights. As the name implies-Little England, the city welcomes you to an old English country village, offering you an unforgettable holidaying experience. From waterfalls, tea plantations, pine forests, rolling hills to lush greeneries, the city is ideal for anyone who likes to immerse themselves in nature and peace. Seetha Amman temple, Hakgala Botanical garden, Gregory lake,Victoria Park and Ravana falls are some of the must-visit attractions in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 09Ella to Udawalawa

Stop 1: After Breakfast proceed to Udawalawa and on the way visit to Rawana waterfall.

This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an Areca flower with withering petals. But this is not the case in the dry season, where the flow of water reduces dramatically. The falls form part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, and is located 6 km (3.7 mi) away from the local railway station at Ella.

Stop 2: Do an afternoon visit to Elephant Transit Camp.

Enjoy the company of jolly elephants experiencing their alluring royalty and majestic aura at the Ath Athuru Sewana in Udawalawe. Being the first elephant rehabilitation centre in Sri Lanka the Elephant Transit Home provide a loving temporary home for orphaned, lost and injured elephants until they get ready to live by their own in the wilderness.
Spanning over an area of 200-acre land, the place provides a safe haven for the elephants while offering you an ample of opportunities to enjoy close company of these majestic creatures. Be there for their feeding time to see how cute the baby ones are when they are suckling milk from bottles.

  • When entering a sacred premises such as a Buddhist temple, it is vital that you are dressed appropriately or you will not be permitted to enter the venue. Please ensure your skirt/shorts are no shorter than knee length and your shoulders are covered.
  • It is important that you respect the rules and traditions that are observed in Sri Lanka during your stay.

  • Visits to wildlife parks will be at client’s own risk.
  • Safari vehicles (none air-conditioned) available are very basic with basic insurance cover (not comprehensive as in the case of vehicles used for tours).

Once you have chosen one of our tours, please send us an inquiry with the requested details via our site or contact one of our representatives in Sri Lanka, Australia, Norway or Oman via telephone. For the moment due to the prevailing situation, customizing your trip will be difficult and we advise you to stick with our tailor made tours for your own safety. However our travel experts will be more than happy to adjust the tour itinerary and add or remove activities of it to fulfill your needs. Once the itinerary is finalized, the booking process will commence.

We require a 65% advance deposit prior 18days of arrival, in order to place a formal booking. On receipt of the deposit, our team will commence booking your hotels and vehicles. Within 5days of your advance payment we will send your hotel confirmations, ticketing details, Driver/guide and Vehicle details along with other required details via our official reservation mail – reservation@bookingceylon.com for you to get an online visa.

Packing Essentials:

As Sri Lanka has a tropical climate and high humidity, we suggest that you wear thin cotton clothing during your stay. However, we suggest you pack some warmer clothing if your tour includes a visit to Kandy, Nuwaraeliya & Ella as these areas have a cooler climate.

Please ensure you bring the following:

  • Effective mosquito repellent (Tropical Strength)
  • Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
  • Sanitary Napkins/ Tampons (for ladies) – as they are nearly impossible to find outside of Colombo.
